In the 1973 Apollo 17 technical crew debriefing, astronaut Evans described seeing a tunnel-like structure with a bright spot in the middle after the brightness of the fireball decreased, through the rendezvous window. Cernan mentioned seeing the superstructure of an aircraft carrier during landing or recovery. Schmitt reported continuous light flashes during the Earth orbit, including one he thought was a flash on the lunar surface. No visible flashes were observed during the ALFMED experiment, but they noticed light flashes before and after the experiment.
